Surgeon Vasilis Th. Papaziogas born in Thessaloniki in 1971. He graduated from high school at the German School of Thessaloniki. In 1988 he was introduced with national exams at the Medical School of the Aristotle University, graduating in 1994 with a grade of "excellent, 9.23" protefontas the year.
He specialized in surgery in North Surgery Clinic of Aristotle, and the Department of Surgery at the University of Munich with a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (Chirurgische Klinik der TU Munchen, Klinikum rechts der Isar). In 2000 he received his Ph.D. from A.P.Th.me grade "excellent", while in 2003 a PhD at the University of Munich.
He specialized in surgical oncology (Department of Surgery, University of Munich and Heidelberg) and in advanced laparoscopic surgery (Department of Surgery, University of Brussels and Bordeaux France).
Since 2001 serving the Medical School of the Aristotle University, first as a lecturer (2001-2007), then as Assistant Professor of Surgery (2008-2014) and finally as Associate Professor of Surgery (2014-present). Since September 2019, he has been the director of the 2nd Surgical Clinic of AUTh. (G.N.TH. "G. Gennimatas")
Co-author of two books and over 300 scientific publications in Greek and foreign medical journals, and has presented more than 100 lectures related to his specialization.
